Poll: Is Visual Studio 2010 too expensive?
When I polled Programming and Development readers about Visual Studio 2010, some members said cost was a big problem. I don’t view this as a major issue; after all, there are the various Express editions, which can be used for free, academic and DreamSpark copies for students and teachers, BizSpark for startups, and free copies for certified Microsoft Partners.

Poll: What do you think of Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4?
In my opinion, Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4 are the first time since Visual Studio 2005 and .NET 2.0 that I feel that the platform and development tools are 100% aligned. Visual Studio 2008 was good, but it had poor support for a lot of .NET 3.X technologies, and there were so many interim items released without the appropriate took upgrades.

Writing iPhone Apps with Visual Studio?
It's rumour time! Analyst Trip Chowdhry, with Global Equities Research, is claiming that Microsoft has been allotted seven minutes during Steve Jobs' WWDC keynote speech. Supposedly, the Redmond giant will unveil that developers will be able to write native iPhone, iPad, and Mac applications using Visual Studio 2010 on Windows. As crazy as this sounds, this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who can move beyond the outdated Apple vs. Microsoft attitude.
